DGG: Tell us about yourselves, Nicole & Amanda.
Nicole (aka Head Miss Tress): I'm is outnumbered with two sons: Max, a 9-year-old skateboarder and soccer player, and Finn, a 7-year-old drummer and baseball player. I've been fantasizing about a daily blo out for my unruly curly hair since birth. Sleek, c’est chic for this boss babe.
Amanda (aka Mane Maven): Born and bred in Metro Detroit, I am the proud mom of a 9-year-old ballerina and a Lego-loving son. My superpower? My long blonde mane that always keeps me tressed to impress.
DGG: Why did the two of you decide to get into this business together? Also, why the beauty industry?
N&A: We both already had and have full time careers, but the idea of opening a business in an industry that we love was a huge draw. We decided that together we could balance it all; family, work, and our entrepreneurial spirits.
DGG: What three pieces of advice do you have for budding entrepreneurs looking to start a business?
N&A: Find your business in what you already love. Believe you will not fail: failure is not an option.
Listen to those who have been there, and trust your gut.
DGG: Do you have a favorite quote or mantra you use when going through downs of being an entrepreneur?
N&A: One day at a time!
DGG: If you could have any celebrity or famous person use your services, who would it be and why?
N&A: Oh my, we can't choose!
N&A: Oh my, we can't choose!
DGG: How do you take your coffee?
Nicole: With cream, no sugar.
Amanda: Black, black, black.
DGG: Which do you prefer, Vidal Sassoon or Tabatha Coffey?
N&A: Game changers, both. We can't say we have a preference, just in awe of both.
DGG: Which do you prefer, long hair or short hair?
N&A: How amazing is the sexy crop worn by Robin Wright as Claire on House of cards? Incredibly so! Sofia Vergara and that gorgeous mane of hers. How can you choose? Such different looks but equally amazing. It's about the woman rocking the hair that makes her feel most powerful, confident and beautiful.
