After Dark: Made in Detroit | Thursday, August 18
Come out and celebrate the end of summer at the Michigan Science Center. There will be food, drinks and products of Detroit, as well as the science that goes into making them. Makers include Detroit City Distillery, Sit On It Detroit, Mcclary Bros and many more! This event is 21+, and there will be a cash bar. Doors open at 6 p.m., and tickets are $15.

Evening on the Ave | Thursday, August 18
Explore retail in Downtown Detroit with a fun night full of shopping, food, drinks, music and more. To get started, just visit any of the stores featured to receive a retail passport filled with special promotions and experiences. Collect a stamp from each location for a chance to win a grand prize. For all retailers, click here. There will also be a pop-up shop. Parking is free in the Z Lot, located at 1234 Library St. This event goes from 5 to 10 p.m.

3rd Annual Detroit Drives & Dreams | Friday, August 19
BUF Connect presents the 3rd annual Detroit Drives & Dreams, a young professionals charity and business networking event at the Detroit Golf Club. This event promises to be one of the "go to" events to kick Dream Cruise weekend off. This is a great opportunity to have fun and network with like-minded individuals. This event goes from 6 to 10 p.m., and tickets are available here.

RV Mendoza: Weird! | Friday, August 19
Come on down to this FREE event for August's CreativeMorning/Detroit with disco pop songwriter RV Mendoza. This event is hosted by Will Leather Goods in Midtown. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. for snacks, coffee and mingling, followed by RV kicking off the conversation at 9 a.m. There is only street parking so make sure to get there early.

Beaute Anthologie will become home to many natural hair and beauty products. The launch will take place at this year's African World Festival at the Charles H. Wright Museum.
