Carats & Cocktails | Wednesday, April 15
Ready to tie the knot? From 5 to 8 p.m., enjoy a few cocktails and light bites while perusing and trying on diamonds, engagement rings and wedding bands. Astrein Jewelers will teach you all you need to know about picking out your perfect ring, and they have a few giveaways for lucky attendees.

Network for Fashion: DGG Fundraiser | Thursday, April 16
Come out and support DGG’s Fashion Incubator from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at The Stand. It’s the easiest fundraiser ever – all you have to do is stop by with some friends and have a couple of cocktails. There's nothing it it, which is what makes it so great. Spend your happy hour with DGG, and learn more about the fashion incubator. Ladies Night Out Charity Event | Friday, April 17
Ray Wiegand’s Nursery & Garden Center is hosting a fundraiser from 6 to 9 p.m. with proceeds going to Turning Point, Inc., a charity that provides a safe environment for domestic violence victims. Receive a gift bag, raffle entry and store savings with the ticket purchase. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at Ray Wiegand’sNursery.

Grand Circus Magazine: Drinks + Music Party | Friday, April 17
Grand Circus Magazine, a magazine created to show the best of Detroit, is looking to be published and needs your help. Orleans + Winder is hosting a fundraiser for Grand Circus from 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. with food, drinks, fun and music by Goudron. A donation of $8 is suggested and you must be 21 and over to attend.

Pack Walk with Canine to Five | Sunday, April 19
Enjoy some time outside with your favorite companion for the Palk Walk with Canine to Five from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Rivard Plaza. Travel through the many paths the riverfront has to offer, and socialize your dog with others. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, and bring plenty of water for you and your canine.

Think of your weekend ending on Monday for Open City Detroit: It’s in the Details forum. Come to Cliff Bell’s from 6 to 8 p.m., to listen to a panel discussion and exchange information with aspiring and established business owners in a great atmosphere. The panel includes Christa Chambers-Price from The Business Story Generator, Patrick Thompson from Patrick Thompson Design, and Andrew Kopietz from Good Done Daily.

Do It: Rock Her World Design Competition at Tapper’s

While at Drinks x Design last Thursday, Tapper’s Diamonds and Fine Jewelry announced its upcoming Rock Her World Design competition. Drinks x Design was great, thanks for asking (we know you are thinking it - you're so great!), but we need to tell you about this design competition, so aspiring jewelry designers, listen up.

Tapper’s has launched a competition for local art and design students to create a piece of jewelry to be featured as part of the Tapper’s Rock Her World Collection. The purpose of the competition is to showcase promising and innovative individuals, and to help advance the career of a promising artist at an early age.

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, the designer’s work is required to be an original concept and needs to feature at least on Rock Her World diamond. Designs must be for either a necklace, rings, or earrings; and a maximum of three entries per designer may be submitted. The winning design will be manufactured and launched within the Rock Her World campaign, and winners will receive a $500 cash reward, a profile on tappers.com and a feature in the fall/holiday issue of Tapper’s Accent magazine.
