Night at the Museum: Intro to European Modern Art | Friday, June 30
The DIA is hosting an event to bring together young professionals in an art-enthused setting for "A Night in the Museum." This quarterly event increases awareness of exhibits/programs at the DIA and creates a culture of new art enthusiasts in Metro Detroit. The first installment of this mixer gives an introduction to European Modern Art by curator Jill Shaw. There will also be live music by blues singer Thornetta Davis and a cash bar in the Kresge Court. This is a free event from 6 to 10 p.m., but make sure to register here.

Michigan Rib Fest 2017 | Friday, June 30 through Sunday, July 2
All weekend, everyone is welcome to come out and enjoy the best BBQ from across the state in Downtown Royal Oak! Aside from BBQ and other food, there will be multiple stages for music, a kids zone and yummy drinks. There will be a $3 entry fee, and for more information, click here.

Drop-In Indigo Dye Workshop | Saturday, July 1
A Wool Story is hosting a pop-up workshop at Eldorado General Store from 2 to 5 p.m. to learn all about Indigo dyeing and Japanese shibori techniques. Cotton bandanas will be provided, but feel free to bring your own white shirts or light colored garments. You'll also bring home instructions to recreate the designs in your own home. It's $40 and there is no limit to how many people can come.

The monthly wine social "Uptown Toast" is back at the Livernois "Pop Up" Shop from 4 to 8 p.m. for great wines and great times. Sample wines from around the world and shop from great artisan vendors. You can also explore all the Livernois has to offer.

Eastern Market Bike Tour | Saturday, July 1
From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., explore Detroit on a bike ride starting at the RiverWalk, then to the Dequindre Cut, and then through Eastern Market. This tour will include information on the area's history and current development plans. You'll also get the chance to see the district's magnificent murals and do some shopping. Depending on time, the tour will also stop in Lafayette Park on the way back, which is home to the largest grouping of Mies van der Rohe buildings in the world. This tour is $30, or $40 with a bike rental, and you can purchase tickets and see the rest of the tour schedule here. The tour will start and finish at Wheelhouse Detroit Bike Shop.

La La Land | Sunday, July 2
So Long Sunday will be closing out its bicentennial themed "City of Stars" season with a showing of the Oscar and Golden Globe-winning film, La La Land, starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone. The movie starts at 10 p.m. at the Rackham Stage.

Tiger's 2016 Opening Day | Friday, April 8

Hey batter, batter; swing batter, batter swing... Yes, Opening Day is Friday, and everyone in the city is excited. Although the weather will be the coldest in Tigers Opening Day in Comerica Park in history, that will not keep our fans at home. There are tons of things to do on Opening Day, and here a few options:

Detroit Home Opener Festival 2016: The largest party going on tomorrow and they will have giant heated tents; you can party indoors or out, beer tents and full bars, a food truck rally, music games and much more. Start your day at 9 a.m., the festival is located at 440 Madison Ave and Brush St. 

Park Bar: Enjoy live music, food, and the best is that Comerica is right across to street. Park Bar will open at 8 a.m., and there are over 48 beers on draft, full bar, and a great game to enjoy. 

Town Pump: Not only is Town Pump celebrating Tiger’s Opening Day, but also this year markers the 20^th Opening Day at Town Pump. They will be throwing a huge party to celebrate both and they open at 8am.

Opening Day at The Belt: The art-filled alley located between Broadway and Library Street will have food, beer, cocktails, and music to enjoy while the game is happening.

Great Lakes Art Fair | Friday, April 8 through Sunday, April 10

The Great Lake Art Fair is an annual fair that offers fine artists in the region a reliable, regularly scheduled, weather-free marketplace to showcase beautiful work. Growing every year, this art fair is a destination event for artist and persons alike. Great Lakes Art Fair will have over 200 artists with something for everybody. Failure: Lab Detroit | Thursday, January 14

Failure: Lab Detroit is a raw and intimate showcase telling stories about personal failures. From 7:30 to 9 p.m., this event is in partnership with Creative Many, a statewide non-profit organization, dedicated to advocating and strengthening support for the arts and culture sector in Michigan. Dessert Oasis Coffee Roasters has opened a second location in Detroit, and the grand opening is happening from 5 to 10 p.m. on Thursday. This workshop is open to the public, with no previous experience required, and materials are supplied. Come learn a new skill as you have the opportunity to pick the brain of a developing artist that is also trying to make a name for herself in the industry.

Come all ye faithful for a night of alcohol infused fun. Experience a night with over 2,000 Santa’s and his Elves for the 16^th Annual Detroit Santarchy from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. This festive holiday celebration consists of a bar crawl in Corktown, Cass Corridor, Eastern Market and all over downtown with thousands of people dressed as Santa. Pick out your best red suit, as costumes are mandatory. The kickoff party starts in Corktown at the Gaelic League Irish-American Club near Slow’s BBQ with live entertainment. Don’t have a DD? No problem! Art and Music programs at schools have been rapidly disappearing, which is why Holiday Recess is a great event to attend being that it is a fundraiser for art supplies and music gear for Detroit Public High Schools. All attendees will be entered in a raffle to win prizes.
