Detroit Start-Up Drinks | Thursday, November 17
DGG's very own board member Carlotta Tutt Holloway is the host of Detroit Start-Up Drinks happening from 6 to 9 p.m. at The BLOCK Detroit. This event has no agenda, just community and access to one of the best happy hours in the city. Founders, freelancers, moonlighters and students are all welcome to join in on the fun and mix and mingle with some of Detroit's most highlighted entrepreneurs.

The 13th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony | Friday, November 18
Presented by DTE Energy Foundation, Detroit is going to light up during a spectacular evening that includes stage and rink performances. From 5 p.m. to 12 a.m., enjoy the sounds of Grammy Award Winner Aaron Neville and watch the Olympic Gold Medalist Meryl Davis and Cahrlie White perform. The tree lighting starts at approximately 7:45 p.m., so you'll want to get down there early and grab a good spot. Admission is a $10 donation purchased onsite only, and all proceeds benefit Campus Martius Park.

Sip & Savor: A Holiday Tasting and Networking Mixer | Friday, November 18
The ladies of The Connection Network, Sumptuous Spirits and The Style Gallery are hosting a after-work networking event from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Kick off the holiday season and do a little shopping while enjoying holiday-inspired cocktails and delectable bites. Tickets for the event are $25 and can be found on Eventbrite.

Winter Magic Weekends - Very Vodka Wonderland | Saturday, November 19
Sample delicious holiday drinks every Saturday from now until December 17 at Campus Martius Park. Offering tastings featuring fresh and festive twists on classic cocktails, this holiday drink event will surely inspire your next dinner party. Housed in a 10,000 square foot heated structure, attendees will have the opportunity to experience the best of Michigan wines, craft beers and spirits, as well as beverages from around the globe. On The Town: Network into the New Year in Style

Blogger babes Bruna of StyleMile, Kori of Color x Number and Brittany of PurpleLove have partnered with United Front for a style event to kick off the holiday season and New Year. These style experts will assist attendees with onsite styling and tips that will help achieve an unforgettable look to make every holiday party and new years picture worthy.

“I would love for women to find their confidence through conscious fashion choices and use them to their advantage in their day-to-day lives," says Bruna of StyleMile. Ready Set Build Social Enterprise Showcase | Wednesday, September 30

Build Institute is a program that turns business ideas into reality by helping to provide them with essential tools and resources they need. Ready Set Build is a fundraiser for this program, and from 5 to 8 p.m., Build is conducting its first gallery-style pitch competition. Social entrepreneurs will showcase their ideas to both investors and guests, and every audience member will then be able to cast a vote for which entrepreneur should win a cash prize and professional services, equaling over $5,000. Tickets are $50, and can be purchased on Eventbrite.

JLB Takeover at Dick O'Dows | Wednesday, September 30 

Women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing potential of women, and improving the community, founded the Junior League of Birmingham in1952. Since then, local women have work in our community to educate and give charitable contributions whether that is time or money to create a great world for women to live in. Join the JLB Wednesday at Dick O’ Dows, where the ladies of the JLB will be serving as guest bartenders. All tips from the night will go back to the League. Come support a great League and enjoy a drink (or two) in the process.

Bruno Vanzielegham has been recording his life over the past two years to create this work of art, opening this weekend. He has taken snapshots over the years that demonstrate his unique impression of how a city has become home. With Detroit growing and gaining steam, we can all appreciate how a city can grow to be your home and can provide you with that stability. From 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., head over to the the Heidelberg Project see his art while listening to live music and stay warm with a hot beverage - Drifter Coffee will be in attendance serving up some unique Detroit coffee! The Detroit Cocktail Classic 2015 | Saturday, October 3

Celebrate the craft of a perfectly concocted cocktail from 7 to 11 p.m. at the 2^nd Annual Detroit Cocktail Classic held at the Garden Theatre in Midtown. Featuring a dozen of Detroit’s favorite drinking establishments and signature top shelf craft cocktails, you can taste your way around the room and learn how to create the perfect drink from the bartenders and vendor representatives. Each attendee will get 15 cocktail samples throughout the night, making the $40 ticket very easy to swallow. After all, we can chase it down with a delicious cocktail.
