Do It: This Weekend's Style, Beauty and Fashion Events That are Not to Be Missed

This weekend is full of fun and fashionable things to do, so if you're itching to hit the town, these events will keep you busy.

After Dark: Time Travel | Thursday, March 16
Come out to the Michigan Science for a night of time travel. From 6 to 9 p.m. you'll be able take pictures in front of a real DeLorean, check out an early prototype of Marty McFly's hovercraft, experience metal bending, explore the spandex universe and see a planetarium show. The featured drink is a Sonic Screwdriver, inspired by Doctor Who. This is a 21+ only event. Tickets are $15 and be purchased here.

The Happier Hour, March | Friday, March 17
Join TechTown for an extension of their usual Friday popcorn and beer into the evening. From 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. enjoy free snacks, drinks, special "Shamrock" Shakes and March Madness. Bring your friends and meet new ones, too!

JUICE | Friday, March 17
SURVIVE DETROIT and Stay Laced are excited to participate in Clubhaus Detroit's "Power Thirty" series! There will be artwork from SURVIVE DETROIT artists, with special performances by OG Ted, Itz Louie and JAY ADAMS. This event is free and will go from 8 p.m. to midnight. To register, click here.

Innovation Speaker Series: Kimberly Bryant | Saturday, March 18
Kimberly Bryant works to introduce young women of color to technology and computer science with a concentration on entrepreneurial concepts. She has been recognized by the White House as a Champion of Change and is a recipient of the American Ingenuity Award in Social Progress. This is a free lecture at The Henry Ford museum for members or included with paid admission. To purchase tickets, click here.

Think Spring Craft Show | Saturday, March 18
Come out to the Royal Oak Farmers Market from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a fun-filled day of crafts! There will be over 50 unique crafters featured. There will be something for everyone.

Hoop Dance Workshop at The Flyhouse | Saturday, March 18
This fun hula hoop workshop is for anyone and everyone who would like to spin, dance and move in new ways. From 5:30 to 7 p.m. join this small class for personalized tips and instructions. Hoops will be available to borrow or purchase. Tickets are $30 a person and can be purchased here.

Spring Soiree - The Ultimate Pop Up Shop | Saturday, March 18
Spring is almost here! To celebrate, come out to Clubhaus Detroit for the ultimate Detroit business shopping event. There will be 15+ vendors with over 1,000 clothing, beauty products, accessories, sweet treats and more items to shop from. There will also be free mimosas and giveaways! Tasteful Art: A Good Eats Launch Event | Sunday, March 19
From 5 to 9 p.m., Clubhaus Detroit will be hosting Tasteful Art: An event that brings together art, music, fashion and culinary for a spectacular evening for all ages. There will be live art, music performances, Good Eats sauces tasting and complimentary wine. Tickets can be purchased, here, for $15, and the dress code is semi-formal.

Chairs for Charity Presented by Empathy313 | Thursday, November 3
Join Hour Detroit magazine and Empathy313 for an unforgettable evening at the Garden Theater. This first annual Chairs for Charity fundraiser will showcase local talent in the art and design community in a unique pop-up gallery of extraordinary chair installations. Well Done Goods' Grand Opening Party | Friday, November 4
Find out what happens when aliens crash-land in Detroit with a load of designery favorites from the MoMA Store, a local screenprinting shop and a natural history museum's basement from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Well Done Goods by Cyberoptix grand opening party. While Cyberoptix is celebrating 10 years of unique neckwear, Well Done Goods is a brand new men's and women's accessories shop featuring handmade home goods, vintage and scientific curiosities, barware and irresistible raw stone jewelry.

American Style and Spirit Exhibition Preview Reception | Friday, November 4
To kick off the Henry Ford Museum's brand new exhibition featuring over 130 years of American style, there will be a preview party from 7 to 10 p.m. You can be the first to see the exhibit while enjoying passed hors d' oeuvres and a wine bar. Launched! A Women's Entrepreneur and Branding Summit | Saturday, November 5

It's two parts business and one part party. All Things Detroit | Sunday, November 6
Get ready to shop til you drop and sample a variety of different homemade desserts and cuisine from your favorite Michigan brands from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. In Eastern Market there will be over 200 local artists, crafters, artisans, food vendors and food trucks to kick off the holiday season with shopping, entertainment and family fun. Advance tickets are $5 here, otherwise they're $7 at the door.
