FGI-Detroit Open Meeting | Thursday, January 12
The January meeting of the Fashion Group International-Detroit will be happening at The Townsend Hotel from 7 to 8:30 p.m. They're looking for new members to join this amazing fashion community! 2017 NAIAS Charity Preview | Friday, January 13
It's auto show time! If you want to be one of the first to preview this year's North American International Auto Show, come out to one of the most exclusive and high-profile events in the nation. Proceeds will directly benefit a wide range of children's charities in Southeast Michigan. Since 1976, the charity preview has raised more than $106 million for charities! Vision Board Workshop 2017 | Saturday, January 14
Vision boards are a great way to visualize your dreams and a way to manifest what you would like to happen in your life. This workshop at the Office Coffee Shop is a great way to meet other visionaries like yourself, while working toward your goals and dreams. From 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. you'll work on your vision board, and then from 1 to 1:30 p.m. there will be a roundtable discussion and wrap-up of the event. It's $35 for one person and you can bring a friend for $25. The price includes light refreshments, supplies and inspirational items. To purchase tickets, click here.

Winter Film Series: The Hudson's Building | Sunday, January 15
This 1997 film chronicles the history of the famous Hudson's Department Store in Downtown Detroit and the debate over the possible demolition of the building after it closed its doors in 1983. It includes historic photos, home movies, and interviews with employees and customers, city planners, developers and members of city council. This is a free showing at the Detroit Historical Museum. You don't want to miss it!

Drinks x Design: Interaction  Design | Thursday, November 10
For the month of November, Drinks x Design will activate the CCS Taubman Center with a celebration of interaction design. Join the CCS MFA Interaction Design and BFA Communication Design departments, Grand Circus, members of Detroit's User Experience community and the Drinks x Design sponsors Vitamin T and Aquent as they showcase their industry. This specific edition of Drinks x Design is a part of World Usability Day, a single day of events occurring around the world, uniting interactive professionals to ensure that the services and products important to life are human-centered, easy to access and simple to use. This is a free event, but registration is required, here.

PLAYGROUND DETROIT Presents "Ambience"Group Exhibition | Thursday, November 10
This will be a group exhibition featuring Detroit-based artists Scott Klinker, Steve McShane, George Vidas and Patrick Ethen. Each of these artists utilizes light as their medium from a different perspective, expressing its physical, physiological and psychological capabilities through color, pattern and communication. The exhibition will run from November 10 through December 8. The opening reception will be from 6 to 9 p.m. at Detroit is the New Black.

A Networking and Professional Development Event | Friday, November 11
For the first time ever The Townsend Hotel will be hosting its own networking and professional development event where attendees will come together to meet, eat, network and learn from leading industry professionals, as well as experience everything the hotel has to offer. Blumz by JRDesigns Free Ladies Night Out 2016 | Friday, November 11
Come out for a fun, festive and free ladies night out! There will be a variety of local vendors in house so you can get some shopping done while mingling and enjoying food and drinks from local companies. There will also be a silent auction with all proceeds going to the Thaw Fund. This event will go from 6 to 9 p.m.
