Urban Exchange Speakeasy | Thursday, December 15
The Urban Consulate is popping up at Detroit Sip with Live6 Detroit and Model D for a special urban exchange with guests from Chicago and Philadelphia. Guests from Philadelphia include Taayib Smith and Meegan Denenberg from Little Giant Creative, and Michelle Freeman and Jermaine Jenkins from Witty Gritty. Guests from Chicago are Carson Poole from Place Lab Chicago. You'll have the chance to share creative ideas for community engagement and ethical development. There will also be featured projects.

Holiday Zims Vodka Tasting | Thursday, December 15

Holiday Spirits 2016 | Friday, December 16
Holiday Spirits puts a holiday twist on classic cocktails and creates "just for the holidays" options with the industry's best distillers, and Detroit's best mixologists and bartenders. This is a great event to get your friends together and have a lot of fun! This will be happening at the Royal Oak Farmer's Market with admission at 7:30 p.m. There are different ticket options so click here to see and purchase them. There will also be plenty of delicious food from local restaurants.

Real Detroit Events & Detroit Mercantile Co. Mitten Market | Saturday, December 17
The Detroit Mercantile Co. and Real Detroit Events present a one-evening, once-a-year pop-up holiday market at the Royal Oak Farmer's Market featuring 70+ Michigan art/design/craft/food/gift/vintage/antique vendors, as well as food and drink from local restaurants and companies. There will also be live music and much, much more.

17th Annual Detroit Santarchy | Saturday, December 17
The only SantaCon event in Michigan will be a pub crawl through Corktown, Midtown, Eastern Market and Downtown Detroit from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. Full costumes are required so get creative. Tickets are $20 and available on the night of the event at the Gaelic League Irish American Club of Detroit starting at 7 p.m. This is definitely an event that shouldn't be missed.

Winter Soulstice Class | Sunday, December 18
Come out to House of Yoga to celebrate their 11th anniversary and the Winter Soulstice Celebration. There will be candle light Yin Yoga and live music by Vishnu Blue. The class will be followed by the chanting of the Hanuman Chalisa and Arati.

Gabrielle Duggan is holding a free workshop on crochet and tapestry weaving this Thursday at 6 p.m, at Ponyride. This designer creates elaborate installations of disparate materials; glass, tar, rocks, wire, yarn, and other textiles. Her pieces twist multiple meanings infused in the material itself. This workshop is open to the public, with no previous experience required, and materials are supplied. Come learn a new skill as you have the opportunity to pick the brain of a developing artist that is also trying to make a name for herself in the industry.

Detroit Santarchy 2015 | Saturday, December 19
Come all ye faithful for a night of alcohol infused fun. Experience a night with over 2,000 Santa’s and his Elves for the 16th Annual Detroit Santarchy from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. This festive holiday celebration consists of a bar crawl in Corktown, Cass Corridor, Eastern Market and all over downtown with thousands of people dressed as Santa. Pick out your best red suit, as costumes are mandatory. The kickoff party starts in Corktown at the Gaelic League Irish-American Club near Slow’s BBQ with live entertainment. Don’t have a DD? No problem! Private busses will be transporting Santa’s all night if you purchase a $20 buss pass. Get there early to ensure you get a spot!


The Lodge // A Cozy Drinking + Shopping Excursion | Saturday, December 19 and Sunday, December 20

#WeAreFoodLab - 3rd Annual FoodLab Celebration | Thursday, December 3
The incredible people that make up the FoodLab Network invite you to a night of awards and celebrations, this Thursday from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Gleaners Community Food Bank. Share tasty eats as you help to honor the wonderful members, partners, and extended FoodLab family that has made such a difference in our community.

Holiday Nights in Greenfield Village | Thursday, December 3
Put on your gloves, hats, and scarves to come out for a night of festive fun in Greenfield Village from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Enjoy a lantern-lit journey into a living snow globe with live music, skating, fireworks, and more winter wonders. The evening will be a magical night to remember as you stroll through the streets, stepping back in time. Horse drawn wagons, costumed presenters, and Santa will be in attendance at this holiday celebration and you surely don’t want to miss that.

Light Up the Aquarium | Friday, December 4
Who could turn down a night of bubbly, hors d’oeurves from Park Grill, Paul Carey Trio for entertainment, and a silent auction all to raise money for the 110-year-old Belle Isle Aquarium? Stroll the historic aquarium and conservatory, decked out to resemble the turn of the last century, with bell ringers and violinists. Ticket prices and levels can be found on the Belle Isle Conservancy website and should be purchased before the event to ensure your attendance. Extra tickets will be available at the door for $65.

2015 Detroit Urban Craft Fair | Friday, December 4 and Saturday, December 5
The Detroit Urban Craft Fair is finally here! Change out of your warm pajamas for a two-day alternative craft fair, now in its tenth year. Browse over 100 handmade crafters and indie artists and find one-of-a kind items and the people that made them. Hours are 6:00 – 9:00p.m. on Friday and 10:00 a.m. – 8:00p.m. on Saturday. This isn’t any ordinary craft show, the venue is the Masonic Temple, which we have all grown to know and love. Start checking off your Christmas shopping list with personalized, handmade products at reasonable prices.

Noel Night | Saturday, December 5
Build Bazaar is partnering with Midtown Inc. and The Majestic Theatre for this year’s Noel Night, featuring over 50 vendors, music, live art, food, drinks, and more! From 5 to 10 p.m., come to Detroit’s Midtown District where over 70 institutions such as the DIA, Michigan Science Center, Detroit Historical Museum, Detroit Design Center, and Detroit Public Library will open their doors to the public free of charge. Spend this Cultural Center-wide holiday open house on a horse-drawn carriage, doing some holiday shopping, family crafts, and making memories. The night will come to a close with a very moving community sing-along on Woodward led by the Salvation Army Band.
