48th Annual Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair | Thursday, July 20 through Sunday, July 23
The heart of Ann Arbor will be filled with tons of art all weekend. There will be 375 exhibiting artist booths, art demonstrations and special guests, including the Carr Center Artist-in-Training program. The fair stretches from Downtown Ann Arbor to the campus of University of Michigan. Thursday through Saturday hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday hours are noon to 6 p.m. For more information, click here.

Wild Beasts Wild Wine | Friday, July 21
From 6 to 10 p.m. at the Detroit Zoo, sample wine from more than 40 local and national wineries and vineyards while enjoying all the zoo has to offer. There will also be live music and zookeeper talks. Tickets are $45 in advance and $50 at the door, which includes admission to the zoo and 10 wine-tasting tickets. There are also designated driver ticket for $30, which includes zoo admission and unlimited soft drinks. You can purchase all tickets here.

Friday Night Live: Carmen Lundy | Friday, July 21
Vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and composer Carmen Lundy will be performing music from her latest album, Code Noir, at the DIA's Detroit Film Theatre from 7 to 9 p.m. The album brings together her love of jazz, blues, Brazilian samba, African rhythms and pop. She'll be joined by Patrice Rushen on piano, Ben Williams on bass, Jeff Parker on guitar, Kendrick Scott on drums and Elisabeth Oei on vocals. This event is free.

Shelby Flea Market | Saturday, July 22
From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. come out to Whispering Woods Park for art, crafts, homemade goods and tons of other good stuff! This will be like any typical flea market so there will be a variety of items for all different types of people. This is also a free event!

Barre in the Park | Sunday, July 23
The Daily Method - Birmingham Barre Studio will be hosting a free 45 minute barre class in Booth Park from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Make sure to also check out everything else Birmingham has to offer, like the Birmingham Farmer's Market, before or after class. Please bring your own mat and water.

Gabriel Hall Pop-Up Experience | Sunday, July 23
Gabriel Hall is hosting their next pop-up event from 6 to 9 p.m.at Nancy Whiskey! There will be tons of food, featuring New Orleans' favorite sandwich -- the Po'Boy. You can choose from shredded chicken, fried catfish or fried green tomato. Be sure to add a side of voodoo fries and check out DJ Skeez on the patio.

FJC Private ART SEEN Exhibition Review: Detroit After Dark | Thursday, October 20
Come out to the DIA for a private ART SEEN exhibition preview and artists' reception featuring Detroit: After Dark, a photography exhibition from the DIA collection. From 6:30 to 10:30 p.m., you'll have access to a private viewing with strolling appetizers, cocktails and music by DJ Mike McGonigal. There will be a cash valet available at the John R. entrance. Trending With Scott's: The Natural Appeal of Autumn | Thursday, October 20

8th Annual Detroit Fall Beer Festival | Friday, October 21 through Saturday, October 22
Calling all craft beer fans: come out to Eastern Market for one of the largest all-Michigan beer tastings in the state. Tickets include 15 tasting tokens which can be exchanged for 3 oz. samples of over 500 locally crafted beers from more than 70 Michigan breweries. Trick or Treat Downtown | Saturday, October 22
Spend an afternoon of family fun in Downtown Rochester with trick or treat, a costume parade and firehouse fun. From 3:30 to 5 p.m. kids can trick or treat at some of downtown's best merchants. The costume parade will be held at 5:15 p.m., and from 4:30 to 7 p.m. come to the Rochester Fire Department (corner of Third and Water) for kids crafts, a Halloween movie and a spaghetti dinner benefiting Rochester Area Youth Assistance.

HarvestFest Detroit | Saturday, October 22
From noon until 5 p.m. come celebrate HarvestFest with the Detroit RiverFront Conservancy and Park Solutions at the Dequindre Cut. There will be hayrides, face painting, giveaways, a birding workshop, bounce houses, family movies/cartoons, food vendors and more! Participants are encouraged to wear their best costumes. Parking is available on the corner or Orleans and Wilkins in Eastern Market.

Smashing Pumpkins | Saturday, October 22
Detroit Zoo animals will be receiving pumpkins filled with tasty treats to eat, play with, roll around in, tear apart and smash. This happens each year around Halloween as staff members provide the animals with seasonal munchies as a part of its comprehensive program. Small Business Networking Event | Wednesday, June 8
The Detroit Art and Business Institute and the Anton Art Center will be hosting a free networking event for creative small businesses at the Three Blind Mice Irish Pub! You'll get the chance to network with other creative people, as well as meet and listen to how Andrea Rosenfeld, the founder/CEO of DABI, guides artists to make more money and increase their self confidence. Kick off your Friday night with First Class Committee, where they're gathering artists downtown on the top of Data Consulting Group's rooftop to celebrate the unveiling of First Class Committee's summer '16 collection with a fashion show. First Class Committee is a men's streetwear brand founded in Austin, Texas and recently moved to Detroit where they now produce all of their clothing. They will be providing beverages, but feel free to BYOB. This event is free, but donations are always appreciated. The event goes from 7 to 9 p.m.

Prince Tribute and Friday Night Live Funk Dance Party | Friday, June 10
Join the DIA in celebrating the music and dance legacy of Prince with an open-air party on the museum's Woodward plaza. DJ Thornstryker will be playing Prince's music from 7 to 9 p.m., while some of Detroit's best dance crews will be performing free-style and challenging each other to spontaneous dance battles. Dancing will continue at 9:30 p.m. with a live performance by The Mighty Funhouse and special guests. Non-alcoholic beverages can be purchased from 7 to 9 p.m. and there will be a cash bar from 9 to 11 p.m. The event is free, but registration is required here.

Vernors 150th Anniversary Party | Saturday, June 11
Help celebrate the anniversary of Detroit local and favorite pop, Vernors, with the Detroit Historical Society. All day learn more about Vernors and participate in fun events all about the oldest pop in America. Vernors floats, cream floats and Boston Coolers will be for sale at the museum from 1 to 4 p.m., where proceeds will be going toward the purchase of a historic marker to commemorate the drink. 2016 Home & Garden Tour | Sunday, June 12
The Historic Indian Village Home and Garden Tour Committee is hosting another two day tour in celebration of the successful restoration of its historic streetlight system. You can come either Saturday or Sunday, or even both days, if you wish. You will be able to view eight historic homes, two gardens, three churches and two schools. On Saturday, tours go from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Sunday, tours go from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Failure: Lab Detroit | Thursday, January 14

Failure: Lab Detroit is a raw and intimate showcase telling stories about personal failures. From 7:30 to 9 p.m., this event is in partnership with Creative Many, a statewide non-profit organization, dedicated to advocating and strengthening support for the arts and culture sector in Michigan. Failure: Lab Detroit has an open and fresh environment that empowers the audience to explore the space between people who fall down and quit, and those who get back up again. There will be limited seating, and tickets are $30 for general admission, so head over to Eventbrite to get yours.

The Drunks of Antiquity: Detroit Historic Bus Tour | Friday, January 15

Drinks and story telling is a great combination. As we all know Detroit is full of history, have you ever actually been to the oldest bar in Detroit? Well, if you answered no, jump on the bus tour experience Detroit's history first hand. The first pickup location is at 6:15 p.m. at Grand Trunk Pub in Detroit, and the second pickup location is at 6:55 p.m. at Rosie O'Grady's in Ferndale. January Detroit SOUP | Sunday, January 17

Make a difference in the community, and have a delicious meal while doing it. Join Detroit SOUP at a public potluck dinner to learn about creative projects happening in Detroit. A few different groups come together to make their case, and then YOU vote on the project you think deserves it the most. Detroit SOUP suggests a donation $5 to attend, and feel free to bring along a dish to pass. The doors open at 6 p.m., talk about creative projects at 7, and finally dinner 8.
