Freep Film Festival | Thursday, March 30 through Sunday, April 2
All weekend at various locations throughout Metro Detroit, come see amazing films that relevant to or are about Detroit, the region and Michigan. The films hope to foster engagement and create discussion about the issues and challenges Detroiters face while also celebrating what makes them unique. Presidential Ball 2017 | Friday, March 31
The Lawrence Tech University is hosting their third annual Presidential Ball at the Detroit Yacht Club from 6 p.m. to midnight. This event is open to all LTU students, alumni and faculty. The Presidential Ball is a way for all LTU affiliates to come together to celebrate accomplishments, while also enjoying an evening full of dinner, dancing and fun with friends. MODEL CALL for Walk Fashion Show: Detroit Edition | Saturday, April 1
The Walk Fashion Show is hosting a model call at Eastern Market Shed 5 for their upcoming show in May. Men and women are welcome, and attire is all black. From 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., ages 3-13 will audition, and from 8 to 10 p.m., ages 14 and up will audition. Make sure to bring a head shot or comp card. Attire for female models are skinny jeans or leggings, a tank top and stiletto heels. Attire for male models are jeans or slacks, a fitted T-shirt and casual shoes.

3rd Annual Power Moves Networking Brunch | Saturday, April 1
The third annual Power Moves Networking brunch is taking place at the Whittier from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. At this event you'll be able to explore your abilities and limitations, gain access to an exclusive business seminar, view a presentation by Courtney Mone't Randolph of Pynk Mogul, network and connect with like-minded businesswomen, enjoy an amazing brunch with mimosas, and gain plenty of resourceful information! Metro Times United We Brunch 2017 | Saturday, April 1
Everyone loves brunch. After all, there's no better way to chase away a hangover than brunch with friends. Metro Times is bringing the best restaurants together for an event like no other. At the Garden Theater from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., you'll be able to sample brunch, Bloody Mary's, mimosas, beer, wine and champagne, all while enjoying music and more! Winterblast 2017! | Friday, January 20
After visiting the Auto Show, come out to Campus Martius Park from 4 to 11 p.m. for a night filled with food trucks, Bedrock ice bar and maze, Meridian winter outdoor slide, DJs, MetroPCS zip line, ice skating, marshmallow roasting, family fun and much, much more. This is definitely a night you don't want to miss.

DIA International Coffee and Tea Festival | Saturday, January 21 and Sunday, January 22
This weekend at the DIA explore the traditions of serving and drinking coffee and tea from four different cultures: Arabic, Chinese, Indian and Japanese. These cultures all have heavily influenced the way the beverages are consumed in Western society. This festival will include tastings and demonstrations in the Great Hall, performances in Rivera Court, and art-making and other family-oriented activities in the first-floor Student Lunchroom. Metro Times Vodka Vodka | Saturday, January 21
Vodka Vodka returns for its eighth year as Detroit's sexiest vodka-tasting event at the Royal Oak Music Theatre from 7:30 to 11 p.m. Come out and sample your old favorites and discover new ones! May Drinks x Design: Interior Design | Thursday, May 12
Throughout May, Drinks x Design will be using the Detroit Institute of Arts to celebrate interior design in Detroit. From 5:30 to 8 p.m., different programs will take place in the Prentis Court, Kresge Court and Romanesque Gallery. Programming includes demonstrations and displays from some of Detroit's leading names in interior design. 21+ are welcome. Guests will receive one drink ticket, and then there will be a cash bar (credit cards accepted).

Women Who Wine: Detroit's Official Launch Soiree | Friday, May 13

Come enjoy a night of fun, good times, and of course, wine! The event will be kicking off and bring awareness to Women Who Wine: Detroit, a group created for phenomenal women who love to socialize, support the community, gain enrichment, network and enjoy wine. From 7 to 11 p.m., you will have the opportunity to enjoy live music, hors d'oeuvres and wine, in addition to networking, learning more about the group and signing up for membership. Come on down to Motor City Casino Hotel to celebrate the best Metro Detroit bars, restaurants, clubs, businesses, entertainment and more! The party kicks off at 7 p.m., and will continue inside the Motor City Casino SoundBoard with live music, dancing and specialty beverages. Make sure to dress to impress.

Dress for Success: Ladies Clothing Swap | Saturday, May 14
Support Build Institute's entrepreneurial programs that directly impact and advance women's career opportunities by participating in one of the most fashionable fundraisers. There is a $20 cost (or $30 for VIP, which allows you an extra 10 minutes to shop before anyone else does, and a minimum of five items (clothing, shoes, and/or accessories) to participate. Volunteers will arrange all of the brought items into a makeshift store while guests indulge in food and beverages, beauty services and other fun activities donated by local businesses. Items must be currently fashionable, clean and either new or gently used. Any sizes are welcome and you may bring more than five items. All un-swapped items will be donated to Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit's Flip the Script Women's Service program. The event goes from 6 to 9 p.m.

Issue Release and One-Year Party | Saturday, May 14
Come to the Grand Circus Magazine Issue 3 release party at the brand new El Club in Mexicantown. This will be the first place to pick up the brand new issue, and you get the chance to hang out with collaborators and issue features. There will be DJ sets by Charles Trees and Conor Mendenhall. On The Town: Warm Up the Long Winter at Vodka Vodka


Drink, dance and enjoy the warmth as Vodka Vodka returns for its sixth year from 7:30 to 11 p.m. On Friday, February 7 at the Royal Oak Music Theatre. Small-batch distilleries samples, 400-year-old staples and innovative signature cocktails will be available for the tasting while DJ Godfather heats things up on the dance floor.

This year’s installment takes the Russian-themed event to the next level with the Valentine Vixen fashion show presented by Lover’s Lane. Local designers Camilo Pardo, Homeslice founder Emily Thornhill and others will be featured in the show as well. Cutting-edge hair styled by Bianchi’s and London Calling salons will compliment the fashion perfectly.

General admission is $35 and VIP $55; designated driver tickets are available at the door for $15. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Healthy Detroit, a non-profit public health organization, so grab your fur hats and head to Vodka Vodka to support a healthy living and to have a great time while doing it.
