This weekend is full of fun and fashionable things to do, so if you're itching to hit the town, these events will keep you busy.

Get Fit for The Cure at Saks Fifth Avenue | Thursday, April 7
Shop with a cure in mind. Saks Fifth Avenue is offering a complimentary fitting in a Wacoal bra. Wacoal will have a fit specialist to make sure you get your perfect fit, and for all of the women who participate in the Get Fit for The Cure event, Wacoal will donate an additional $2 for every bra or shape wear purchased. If you spend over $80 you will receive a gift with purchase.

OPTIK Detroit Pop-Up Kickoff | Thursday, April 7
All month long OPTIK Birmingham and Oakland Ophthalmic Surgery will have a pop-up eyewear shop in the Detroit Midtown/Cass Corridor neighborhood. Unique frames from DITA Eyewear and Vinylize by Tipton (just to name a few) are available to browse, try on and purchase. The kick off event for this pop up starts at 4 p.m., and proceeds this month will go towards Covenant House Michigan.

Coffee and Conversation: Allyson Martinek | Friday, April 8
Before you start your Opening Day activities stop by Will Leather Goods for some coffee and great conversation. Radio personality and new author Allyson Martinek will meet and greet customers, and read a few passages from her brook, ”Living on Air”. The event (and complimentary hot coffee!) will start at 8 a.m.

Tiger's 2016 Opening Day | Friday, April 8
Hey batter, batter; swing batter, batter swing... Yes, Opening Day is Friday, and everyone in the city is excited. Although the weather will be the coldest in Tigers Opening Day in Comerica Park in history, that will not keep our fans at home. There are tons of things to do on Opening Day, and here a few options:

Detroit Home Opener Festival 2016: The largest party going on tomorrow and they will have giant heated tents; you can party indoors or out, beer tents and full bars, a food truck rally, music games and much more. Start your day at 9 a.m., the festival is located at 440 Madison Ave and Brush St. 

Park Bar: Enjoy live music, food, and the best is that Comerica is right across to street. Park Bar will open at 8 a.m., and there are over 48 beers on draft, full bar, and a great game to enjoy. 

Town Pump: Not only is Town Pump celebrating Tiger’s Opening Day, but also this year markers the 20th Opening Day at Town Pump. They will be throwing a huge party to celebrate both and they open at 8am.

Opening Day at The Belt: The art-filled alley located between Broadway and Library Street will have food, beer, cocktails, and music to enjoy while the game is happening.

Detroit is The New Black Game Day Pop-Up: Shop and celebrate Opening Day all at that same time with DITNB. Popcorn will be served along with its classic apparel.


Great Lakes Art Fair | Friday, April 8 through Sunday, April 10
The Great Lake Art Fair is an annual fair that offers fine artists in the region a reliable, regularly scheduled, weather-free marketplace to showcase beautiful work. Growing every year, this art fair is a destination event for artist and persons alike. Great Lakes Art Fair will have over 200 artists with something for everybody. Tickets are $7 for adults, admission is free for children.

Suburban Collection Showplace is located at 46100 Grand River Ave., in Novi.


The Ultimate Day Party | Sunday April 10
Posh Deux presents The Ultimate Day Party with music by Andre Terrell to kick off the Posh Deux hair, makeup and fashion show (happening April 23). A great way to spend your Sunday evening. Tickets are $35 dollars; for more information email posheuxevent@gmail.com.
