This weekend is chock-full of fun and fashionable things to do, so if you’re itching to hit the town, these events will keep you busy!



MOCAD's Got Talent: Open Mic | Friday, January 29
The MOCAD Teen Council will present an open mic night hosted by LaShaun Moore. This all-ages welcome event will include art, music, and a performance by the MOCAD Teen Council. There will be sign up list for guests to perform anything from singing, spoken word, dance or even playing a instrument. Admission is free, so grab your creative teens, and take them out for a fun evening in Detroit.

Sip, Swop & Shop | Saturday, January 30
Ladies, it's time to pamper yourself with some girl time. Thrift on the Ave is hosting Sip, Swop & Shop event featuring a wardrobe stylist to help you create a great outfit with your new piece, and an auction to get that new piece. All you have to do is bring up to five stylish pieces to swop with the other ladies and then shop all of the new treasures while you sip on something that will keep you warm. The event is free, all the gals at TOTA are asking is that you bring a bag of gently used work appropriate clothes to be donated to C.O.T.S and Dress for Success.

The Royal Detroit Gala | Saturday, January 30
The Royal Detroit Gala was designed for business owners, entrepreneurs, and community leaders to network and donate to the community. This event, happening at the Charles H. Wright Museum, is all about philanthropy, but let's not forget about the fashion as all guests will have a red-carpet arrival, so you will need to dress your best. Aside from the fashion The Royal Detroit Gala has chosen Crime Stoppers of Michigan to received a percentage of the proceeds from the event. Tickets to the event are $75, and available at www.royaldetroitgala.com.

The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History  is located at 315 E. Warren Ave., in Detroit.
